Below is a link to a short video clip that the faculty viewed and discussed last Monday. We were discussing the meaning and development of intelligence, creativity, lesson design and student engagement. I think you will enjoy the clip if you have the time to view it. Please feel free to leave me a comment regarding the video or any of the blog posts.

Greg, thanks for posting the link to Sir Ken Robinson's video clip. Fortunately art was taught to everyone in my elementary school, and the art teacher identified my talents in art and shared this with my parents. Becuase my talent was identified at an early school age, I found what I was good at and invested my time in the arts, which paid off with a degree and career as a landscape architect. I frequently walk into Ms. Miller's art room just to see the art the children are creating and the rich environment that she has created to inspire our children. I'm thankful that our school offers music, too. With Ms. Dieterich's teaching, I often hear my children singing what they've learned in her class. With so much pressure to perform well with state-mandated testing, I'm thankful that art and music continue to be offered in our school.
